Cirurgia
L’HospitalVet+ Clínica Veterinaria
In order to avoid animal suffering, at L’HospitalVet+ Veterinary Clinic, we perform surgeries as least invasive as possible. This practice consists of generating incisions of smaller size and size.
The advantages of non-invasive surgeries, either with rigid or flexible endoscopy or, sometimes without them, are that they allow greater postoperative recovery, and therefore cause less pain in the postoperative phase. It reduces inflammation, bleeding, and the risk of infection. Therefore, as a general rule, a faster recovery is achieved and with fewer complications.
The existing technology in the operating room is:
- Inhalation anesthesia with Isoflurano
- Multiparametric monitor

Anesthesia and analgesia (pain treatment):
At L’HospitalVet+ Clínica Veterinaria we ensure the well-being of our patients, so, when required, we use drugs that help reduce stress, pain and sometimes awareness. In all those patients who must be surgically operated we perform general, regional, local and/or epidural anaesthesia. It is also used for diagnostic procedures such as specific x-rays, endoscopies, and in some critical, oncological patients…
Our team meets the highest international quality standards for the performance of anesthetic, post-anesthetic and monitoring procedures. The goal is to provide a safe, pleasant anesthesia, without stress, or pain.
The pre-anaesthetic assessment includes a detailed clinical history of the patient that considers all the elements (clinical background, age, race, temperament), a complete physical exam and pre-anaesthetic tests ( arterial pressure, analytic, imaging tests, echocardiography, electrocardiogram, etc.). This prior evaluation allows the anesthesia team to decide the most appropriate and safe anesthetic protocol for the patient, as well as the procedure to be performed.
The patient is monitored with the most sophisticated equipment: continuous electrocardiogram, oxygenation study, breath control, gas exchange and blood pressure.
