Ready to travel?
Do not forget the certificate that certifies the health and condition of your dog, cat and ferret. At L’HospitalVet+ Veterinary Clinic we provide it to you.
Keep in mind that depending on the destination you are going, the requirements vary, so make sure you process them with sufficient time; you will need a few weeks.
In general, the documents that are usually needed are the following:
- PASSPORT: document necessary for dogs and cats to travel within the European Union or enter from other countries.
- HEALTH CARD: document where vaccinations, deworming, data of medical interest, and surgical interventions are noted.
- CHIP: Identification in the animal register of Catalonia AIAC.
- CERTIFICATE OF RABIES ANTIBODIES: rabies vaccination is mandatory to go outside Spain and even in the vast majority of autonomous communities in Spain, but in some countries more specifically in some countries a certificate is required as the animal is vaccinated and also at the immune level has a minimum of antibodies necessary to be able to enter the destination country. To obtain this antibody certificate it is advisable to extract blood with a minimum of 30 days after the rabies vaccination, then the sample is sent to a specific European laboratory and the result together with its certification can take a minimum of 30 days to arrive
- HEALTH CERTIFICATE: in the L’HospitalVet+ Veterinary Clinic, the Collegiate Clinical Veterinary, certifies that the animal does not present symptoms of infectious-contagious diseases, is vaccinated from rabies and in conditions of travel; as well as any other item required by the destination country. It is usually done during the 10 days before traveling to the destination country.
